Welcome to JannetWalsh.art, nature-inspired work from rural Minnesota.  My earlier photos and videos have been featured by CNN, CNN iReport, HLN, The New York Times Company and the California Academy of Sciences.

On my site you will find new photos, video, blogs, and art of wildlife in their own environment.  It’s likely you will see wild birds and animals I see daily in rural Minnesota.  I will likely expand beyond home to share what I see as a photographer, visual journalist, and artist.  I also enjoy creating watercolor and ink drawing in rural and natural settings not far from home.

I’m looking to share with you from my personal journal of the birds I encounter, along with videos and images.  I hope to inspire you to see nature that’s close to your home and surroundings.

Birth of new website
In November 2020, I started photographing  wild birds in my backyard, along with squirrels and cottontail rabbits.  I’ve been sharing my images and videos on social media with friends and family, but now there’s a following of my daily birds on social media from around the world from Hong Kong, England, and especially northern cold climates in Europe.

You might be interested in my wilderness photos and videos from Isle National Park featured by the California Academy of Sciences.  See details at the bottom of my career website home page.

Minnesota Blizzard  – Please take a look at a recent video I published Dec. 23, 2020, from a blizzard in Minnesota featuring birds in my backyard.  See how the birds adapt in snowy conditions. Snow and winds gusts of  55 mph (about 88.5 kph) or more keep me at home and closed area roads in Minnesota. The birds were eating to survive at the bird feeders in my backyard.
